In 1996, we embarked on a project of entering data from tax lists. We wrote up instructions on how to key the data into a PC, using a simple text-editor or word-processing program. The 1890 Tax Lists have 100 fields per househould, but we're interested mainly in just 4 fields. If you'd like to participate in this project, contact us. We're even open to the idea of helping you to publish your own tax list book for your county. Below, is a list of counties underway or completed.
