April 2009 Minutes

 

 

The April 2009 meeting of the Rebel Corvettes of the Blue Grass was called to order by President, Dave Dinsmore at 7:20 p.m. at the Ramada Inn.  There were 15 members present.

 

There were no March minutes due to the absence of Brenda Clark.

 

Treasurer’s Report-Bal of $1653.15 of which $319.50 is 50/50 and $132.06 Christmas Fund.

Motion by Ann Wilson to accept.  Second by Martha Lynn Morris.  Motion carried.

 

Old Business:

Corvette Expo in Sevierville-13 drove down together in the rain and fog.  Met 4 other members at the show.  It was a great week-end.  Relaxed, ate, and the ladies shopped.  Life is good.

 

April 10th-Maker’s Mark party in downtown Lexington.  Tickets must be purchased by an Ambassador so be sure and let someone know if you are interested in attending and are not an Ambassador.  $10.00 each ticket.  Time is 8:00 until 11:00. Meet at the Chevron station on Versailles Road at 10:00 a.m. on the 11th for the drive to the distillery.

 

Apr 25th-Pre-Derby Party at McConnell’s Auction Center in Paris.  Proceeds benefit the Hopewell Museum.   Tickets this year are $55.00 per person.  Cocktail buffet, Torques will be playing-dancing begins at 8:00, live and silent auction.  Fun night.  Contact Kaye if you are interested in attending.

 

May 2nd-Derby Party at Greg and Sue Ann’s home.  Sign-up sheet being passed around.  Entrée will be chicken.  Festivities will begin at 3:00.  Bring money!

 

Cruise-Inn’s:

April 16-Parkette sponsored by the Blue Grass Corvette Club

April 17-K-Mart parking lot in Frankfort

May 2-Cynthiana

May 9-Paris at the Wal-mart parking lot.

 

There will be a car show in Winchester on May 16th-Rain date-May 23rd sponsored by the Central Baptist Church.  Proceeds will be used for their Youth Mission Trip to Colorado this summer.  There will be a Bluegrass concert , DJ and 50/50 pot.    Pre-registration is $15.00.  They day of the show - $20.00.

 

July 18-19th-Trip to Lancaster, Ohio.  Let Tony Morris know if you are interested so he can reserve rooms.

 

Oct – Eureka Springs-Let Tony Morris know if you are interested.  He is trying to reserve rooms.

 

New Business:

May 7th-Dwayne Holder’s birthday.  He would like for everyone to go to Papa Does (spelling???) in Ohio for dinner.  Let Dwayne know if you are interested in this trip.

 

The door prize was won by Steve Secchio.  (A nice Corvette purse.  Matched his outfit).  50/50 won by Sue Ann James.  (Guess who bought Greg’s dinner)?

Ron Banta reported that the Ramada will start putting our name on their Marquee on our meeting dates.  They are pleased that we are having our meetings there.  If you have questions or concerns, contact Ron.
