 Rebel News January/February 2009 We are a little slow in getting this year off to a start but we are working on all that and here is our start. Business: The Jan meeting was called to order by Big Smith our President at Columbia’s Steak House. The meeting was short and not much to cover just yet. The event committee was formed and agreed to meet at the home of Greg & Sue Ann to make plans for 2009. The Feb meeting was held at The Ramada Inn on N Broadway. The Rebels have finally found a home!! We have a great room set up with tables and chairs and a business atmosphere in which we can conduct our business meeting and then move on to Sigee’s Restaurant for food, beverage and conversation. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU GOES OUT TO RON BANTA FOR MAKING ALL THIS AVAILABLE TO THE REBELS!! This is something we have needed for along time!! New Member Steve was ask to draw for door prize & 50/50 Door prize winner – Danny Hunt 50/50 Winner – Steve (something not right about that one!) If you members from last year have not yet been able to join us we have missed you and encourage you to try to make our next meeting!! WELCOME BACK to all our returning members looking forward to a busy year but a fun year. New Business: We want to welcome new members Steve & Debra Secchio they are driving a 2007 Yellow coupe and returning members from the “Old Rebels” Sherry and Goebel Craft!! Fun Stuff: The Event Committee met at Greg & Sue Ann’s and attached is a copy of tentatively planned events for 2009. We are still in need of drives and those will be scheduled as weather permits as other events will be as things come up during the summer. ***** First event is Carl Casper Show, Feb 22 This is sponsored by Tony Morris. We will meet at the Shell Station on US 60 as you get off I-64 exit 58 Frankfort/Versailles go right at bottom of ramp Shell on left at 12:00 and go to the show in Louisville and then have dinner on the way home at a restaurant of Tony’s choice. Any questions please contact Tony!! ***** We have agreed to the Corvette Expo weekend at Seiverville, TN. Ron Banta is checking on rooms and you need to contact him if you want to go. We will be staying Friday night and going to the show on Sat and then coming on home. Those dates are March 27-28, 2009. This and other upcoming events will be discussed at the March meeting So bring your Calender with you. It was voted not to participate in the St. Patty’s Parade. We want to Thank Norm & Diane for hosting the Super Bowl Party. What a great party house they have. Big TV’s - Big Bars! – Big Hospitatlity!! What has happen to “The Boss” Whew has he aged!! Congrats to Linda & Dwayne the first Qtr winners of the Super Bowl POT And Tony Wilson for the ˝ Time winner!! Chili was good and some was hot hot hot!! Thanks Smith, Greg & Dwayne!
