![]() Rebel News June 2008 The June meeting was held at Jacobson Park. Welcome to Suzanna, Dan Gray’s friend. Hope we didn’t scare you too bad, Suzanna, but most of us are over 50 and do tend to say what comes to mind. But then, being over 50, not a lot comes to mind sometimes. We then had a nice drive down to Riptides on the River for Dinner. We ate out on the patio and listened to a good band. Sue Ann and Big Smith danced a round or two and I thought the food was good. On the Interstate on the way home, a Mazda RX7 pulled up beside Tony and me and revved up his engine. I tried to get Tony to punch it but he wouldn’t. He said one traffic school a year was enough for him. I hate that he’s getting so old!!! There was a good turn out at the Derby Party. The food was good as usual. The fate of 8 Belles made everyone sad. I couldn’t even enjoy gloating over winning one of the Derby Pots. We ladies left the men at the house and got our Consignment fix with a private showing at SLL in Richmond. Thanks Sue Ann and Greg for hosting. Kentucky Horse Park Show-Tony Morris, Norm and Diana and Big Smith attended. They said it was a nice show and I think they all trophied. The Salvisa show was a BUST per Tony Morris. The cook-out a Kaye and Danny’s house was excellenté. (That’s not a typo, I’m practicing my Spanish). It was very relaxing for everyone except Donald Clark and Norm. I think Donald got a little anxious thinking he would have Brenda’s food down his back. Norm, you wear your food real well!! Linda Holder thought the Margaritas were quite tasty. We got to meet Donald and Brenda’s Grandson, Kelly, and their daughter Becky was there. It was good to see Danny off his crutches. Thanks Kaye and Danny for hosting. July 5th-There will be an after the 4th cook-out at the Wilsons. We will do a short drive and come back to the house ant EAT!!! More details at the July meeting. Show and cook-out at Jim and Judy’s house in Lancaster, Ohio. July 25th. Tony M. has rooms reserved so let him know if you are planning to go if you haven’t already. We also need to let Jim and Judy know show many are going to be at their house for the cook-out. The Karl Shannon show will be in Sept. I’m sure Dwayne will keep us updated on that one. It’s for a very good cause too! St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Tony and Martha Lynn will be hosting a pool party in August. Info to follow. Dwayne and Linda will be hosting a get together at their house in Sept. Info to follow. The next meeting will be held at the RT Cafe in Richmond. Sue Ann has made the arrangements for us. We will be in a private room and she found out that the owner has a Vette. I will have Tony M. send out an e-mail with the directions. June Birthdays: As always, if you have an event you would like to sponsor or know of an activity you would like for the club to participate in-let Tony or Tony know. We are always open for suggestions. Ann Wilson, Public Relations, RebelCorvettes |
