February 2008

Our February meeting was held at Jeff Sachs in Frankfort. The restaurant of choice this month was Jim’s Seafood. They kept the restaurant open just for us! Good choice Big T!

I FOUND GREG!!! In Winchester by gosh Kentucky stuck in a seat at the Leeds Theatre.

We had 5 and ½ couples that traveled down I-65 to Music City. We ladies have learned that those GPS gadgets are awesome. We entered the addresses of consignments shops in that dude and we went all over Nashville and Hendersonville shopping while the guys went to the car show. After we ate, we went back to the hotel to try and cheer our Wildcats to victory over Florida but that wasn’t to be. Danged old referees. And then the rest is a secret. We made a pact that what goes on in Nashville stays in Nashville but I will give you a few hints. Lucy, Linda and Dianne be bad, computers and homeland security; some know him as The Red Barron, some know him as condom head-we know him as Dwayne. Now if you want to know THE REST OF THE STORY, I’m not sure how you’ll find out cause what goes on in Nashville-stays in Nashville! We stopped by the Mall (of course) on the way home and we ate at the same little old fashioned restaurant that we stopped at last year. For some reason those locals scatter when we walk in!!

A bunch of us went to the Leeds Theatre on Feb 2nd (that’s where I found Greg) to hear a local band with the proceeds going to charity. Dwayne supplied the wine. We all had a good time “swayin” with the music and some had a better time than others but I’m not sure they remember. Huh Jeff? There will be another Winchester Jamboree in March. I’m not sure there are still tickets available but you can check with Kaye to get a phone number to check it out.

Kaye and Danny hosted the super bowl party. Didn’t that pass within the last minute of the game that gave the GIANTS the lead just break your heart, Brenda and Dianne??? GO Eli, GO Eli!!!! We had great food and a great time. We didn’t sell squares this time because we knew Norm would win. Thanks Kaye and Danny for hosting.

We need to do some drives this year. A good ole summertime Sunday afternoon drive and of course somewhere we can stop and eat on the way. It’s never too early to planning. Tony M. was going to contact the club that sponsors the Green River show to see if they were having their show this year. If they don’t we thought we could do a drive to Green River and have a picnic lunch. Danny, you could always plan a drive where we could end up at Berryman’s in Mt. Sterling for a chillie dog. John Smith-Nobody knows back roads better than you and we all liked that drive to Woodford Reserve. Not to put anyone on the spot-just things that crossed my mind.

Our new club representative from Sachs is Bud Renfro. Bud was kind enough to stop by our meeting an introduce himself to us and to offer his assistance in any way. Be sure and call Bud for any of your Corvette needs.

February Birthdays:
Brenda Clark – Feb 14th
Ken Carey – Feb 15th

I have been remiss in congratulating Donald and Brenda Clark on the birth of their Grandson. Welcome to the Grandparents Club!!

At last report, Malcolm will be home in 55 days. Dianne can tell you how many minutes and seconds. She also said not to call or come back the first week he is home. I don’t know what that is all about!!!

FYI-It was reported at the meeting that there is a bill in Frankfort to make the Corvette the state car. Never mind about the trivial things like education and the homeless but we’ll have a state car!

Our next meeting will be held at Guaranteed Pest Control on March 6th at 7:00 p.m.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

I’m so happy that I found Greg!
