![]() Rebel News December 2007 The December meeting was held at our house. We had great food and everyone seemed to be in the Christmas spirit. We would like to welcome Ron Banta and his 98 Black Coupe to the club. I understand that Ron used to be a Rebel member so Ron---Welcome Home!!! Due to some of our members traveling to Cancun (it’s a tough life but somebody has to do it) and the Thanksgiving holiday, we didn’t have anything going on in November so here is what is coming up in December: Christmas Party - Dec 15th 6:30 at Cousins in Harrodsburg. If anyone wants to drive down together, meet at the McDonalds in Palomar Shopping Center at 5:30. Don’t forget your Bingo gifts and silent auction items. BYOB Dec 31st - New Years Eve - We have several options.   Holiday Inn North-Room, Champagne reception, buffet, open bar, entertainment, Champagne toast at midnight. $259.00 per couple. Sheridan Hotel-Room, Buffet (Prime Rib and Seafood Bar we think), entertainment. Breakfast the next morning. $199.00 per couple. We have to get more info on this one. Capital Plaza in Frankfort-Diana Honaker is going to check on this for us and let Tony Morris know. Jeff Wright (a friend of ours) is going to check on State Parks. We will vote at the Christmas Party on the function we want to attend. January 19th & 20th - Nashville - Even though it is a little more expensive, we decided that we would like to stay at the Homewood Suites instead of the Holiday Inn. Let Tony M or Tony W know if you want to attend.   It’s a great weekend.   We sure hope Gary and Lucy go.   We need to see if we can break our record and get more than 14 in the Yukon. July 28th - Leave it to Tony Morris to already be thinking of events for 2008.   Corvette show in Lancaster, Ohio.   I’m thinking Tony has reserved some rooms already. Jim and Judy (our Ohio friends) want to have a cook-out for all of us when we go up. At our last meeting we voted to send a “care package” to Malcolm since he is serving our Country in a civilian capacity in Iraq. Malcolm says that there is really nothing that he needs so we voted to make Malcolm and Dianne honorary members of the Rebel Corvettes of the Bluegrass next year. Thank you Malcolm for what you are doing and Dianne for holding down the fort while Malcolm is away. We also wish you a Very Merry Christmas and look forward to your safe return. When we were in Maggie Valley, back in May we visited The Wheels Through Time Museum.   The people there were so nice and gave all of us from the Club an awesome tour through the Museum at no charge. (The cost is usually $10.00 per person).   They operate totally on donations.   We had intended to bring this up at previous meetings but you know how the memory is after you sleep a few times, but we thought it would be nice to send them a donation from the Club.   Dwayne made the motion and it was seconded to send them a $100.00 donation.   Those of us that took the tour know it will be appreciated. There was only 1 change to the nomination of officers.   Judy Courtney declined Scrap Book and Sue Ann James agreed to take for another year. Tony Morris - President Tony Wilson - Vice President Judy Meiners - Secretary Juanita Augustson - Treasurer Ann Wilson - Public Relations (I know everyone fights over this position but thank you all so much for letting me keep it another year). Sue Ann James - Scrap Book Brian Harney - Web Master Speaking of Brian Harney as the WebMaster, check out the website.   Brian has already been working on it.  Let him know if you have parts for sale, or pictures that you want posted.   We want to thank Wanda Hunt for being our WebMaster last year.   We know you have a very demanding job and we appreciate your help. December Birthdays: Darryl Brewer - Dec 24th Danny Hunt - Dec 3rd Don Meiners - Dec 11th Judy Meiners - Dec 22nd Tony Morris - Dec 6th Jerry Moss - Dec 21st Our next meeting will be held at Jeff Sachs in Frankfort – January 3, 2008.   We thank Jeff for continuing to sponsor our club. Love, Tony, Ann, Amy and Gunner ![]() As usual, remember our sponsor, Jeff Sach's Auto Park, for your Corvette needs. |
