![]() Newsletter ![]() March 1, 2007 A Rebel welcome to Ashley, Big Smith’s friend that visited with us at our meeting. I think we all got our shirt orders in. Good luck Lucy in figuring all those order forms out for your spread sheet. We tried out Friday’s for dinner. The food was good, the service a little slow but it gave us more time to yak so all went well. We had 12 people that traveled up to Cardinal Country for the Carl Casper show. We got to see Tow Mater and one of the cuties that stars in Days of Our Lives and we ate Corn Dogs, Pretzels and Ice Cream. We looked at jewelry and purses and I guess the guys looked at those cars. There sure were a lot of them. We ate at the King Fish on the way home and I think the general consensus was that we won’t try that again. One of our visitors is still waiting on his Clam Chowder. One good thing, we might not have gotten what we ordered but we got more than we ordered and we all left full!! Due to the majority of people going to Knoxville the week-end of March 17th-We have decided not to participate in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It usually rains anyway. Speaking of Knoxville—Since not everything is planning on the same agenda; everyone will be on their own as far as travel and rooms. We’ll just see ya there! April 13th & 14th is the Maker’s Mark Week-end. We have not participated in the Friday night (13th) events they have in Lexington but some of us are thinking about that. The trip to Maker’s Mark is on Sat. the 14th. I’m sure we will meet at the Chevron on Versailles Rd. but details will be announced at the April meeting. We now have 10 rooms booked for the Maggie Valley Trip. It sounds like it will be a great week-end. If you haven’t booked your room and would like to go contact Tony Morris or Tony Wilson. Also-for the ones that are booked—you need to send in your registration for the car show. As of last night, only 4 people have done that. This event is over the Memorial Day week-end. We’ll be leaving on Friday and coming back on Monday. NHRA-This will be over the Labor Day Week-end. We plan to leave on a Sat. and get to the Indianapolis around 3:00. We’ll go to the track and stay until around mid-night. These are the qualifying rounds and there is a big fire works display at the end of the night. Don and Judy say that this is a great event. Don will take care of finding accommodations and getting the tickets. The tickets are $54.00 each and you have to be sure you are going because they are non-refundable. Don will call everyone when the tickets go on sale. This is something we have not done before and sounds like fun. We still have the following to think about: Derby Party-May Green River in July Woodford Reserve-Picnic on the Porch-All summer Corvette Homecoming-Aug 10-11-12 Corvettes @ Carlisle-Aug 25-26 Carl Shannon Car Show-June (Fund Raiser for St. Jude Children’s Hospital) And any other event or drive that anyone would like to sponsor or see the club participate in. Maybe if UK wins any games in the NCAA tournament, we can get together to watch a ballgame.
![]() Our next meeting will be held at Jeff Sach’s in Frankfort, April 5th at 7:00. maybe we’ll see norm and Diana!! If you haven’t paid your club dues for the year, please send them to Juanita. They are $25.00 one and $40.00 for two. This will be your last newsletter if we don’t get your dues by the end of the month. Where else can you have this much fun for $40.00!!! |
