![]() Newsletter May 2006 A big Rebel welcome to Don and Judy Meiners (06 Red Convertible) and Darryl and Betty Brewer (93 Green Coupe). Leeds Theater, we had another great time. They like us so much up there that we had our own private concert by Looney Tunes. I don’t understand this statement from the band but they said that we 18 people sounded like 100! Linda Holder got to fulfill a lifelong dream of dancing on stage and leave it to Kaye, she found us a bottle of wine. Hopewell Museum fund raiser, Marthy Jo and Smith were so impressed with the Torques’s performance at the fund raiser that they are recommending a function to be held at The Winery on June 3rd featuring the Torques. Tickets are $22.00. Sachs Car Show, even though it rained, there was a big turn out. Pat did a great job organizing. Everything was free, the trophies were awesome and the DJ played the good ole oldie goldies. There were a few bumps along the way but we’ll learn from our mistakes. Jerry Moss and Ken Carey presented our Ken Beasley Memorial trophy for best Corvette and that went to Don and Judy Meiners who are now members. Two of Ken’s sisters were present to watch the presentation. Thanks to Big Smith for selling $400.00 in 50/50 tickets. The proceeds went to Mercer County High School. You’ve heard of Christmas in July – well this was Christmas in May. Lucy said it was time to discuss the location and date for our Christmas party. We can get the clubhouse where we had it last year for the same price $100.00. We voted for Dec 9th at the same clubhouse and we will discuss food later.
The next meeting will be held on June 1st at 7:00 p.m. at Jeff Sachs Auto Park in Frankfort. |
