Frankfort Photo Gallery
The filming of the movie "The Great Race", 1964, Frankfort, Kentucky.
Ray Harrod, of Frankfort, was an extra in the movie and snapped these photos of actor Tony Curtis.
As I recall, the Capital City Airport was a staging area for the movie.

From Elmer Shepard, via email:
I REMEMER THIS.   A LOT OF KIDS IN SCHOOL SIGNED UP FOR EXTRAS.   JACK LEMMON AD PETER FALK CAME DOWN TO HOCKENSMITH'S POOL HALL, FALK PLAYED BILLARDS WITH SOME OLD GUYS THERE AND GOT HIS BUTT KICKED.   HE CAME IN CARRYING HIS OWN POOL STICK LIKE A PROFESSIONAL.   LOL
Later, from Lillian Moore Gividen, via email:
One of those "old guys" at the pool hall was my Dad.   We heard about this for days.   (Her Dad is James Ray Moore).
